What you need to know about applying to Volunteer with PHA.

Before You Apply:

  • Get to know PHA. Take time to understand who PHA is and what PHA does. Read through our website, follow PHA on social media and be ready to let us know why you'd like to contribute to our organisation.
  • Make sure your CV and references are ready!

The Application Process:

  • SHORTLISTING. During the intake period, the volunteer coordinator will review all applications. If you are shortlisted for an interview, you will be contacted by the coordinator. Please note that due to the high volume of applications, we regret that we are unable to provide individual feedback for unsuccessful applicants. However, we sincerely appreciate your interest in volunteering with us, and we encourage you to consider reapplying in the future if you wish. Thank you once again for your application, and we truly value your support in our mission to help those in pregnancy-related need.

  • VOLUNTEER INTERVIEW. Individuals whose application is considered a strong possible fit for the role and the organisation are offered interviews (via Zoom). A successful interview, followed by confirmation from referees, will result in the offer of a volunteer role.

  • SELECTION. Individuals successfully completing the interview process will be notified verbally and offered a volunteer position. The offer of this position remains dependent on the successful confirmation of additional requirements (National Police Check, WWVP/WWCC, availability for training, and ongoing commitment)

Joining the team:

  • INDUCTION & TRAINING. Each volunteer is required to participate in mandatory induction and training with PHA.
  • All volunteers will commence with an initial 3-month probation period. Throughout this period, they will receive regular supervision from the PHA Helpline Coordinator. After the first three months, a review will be conducted to assess whether this role is a good fit for both the volunteer and PHA, and to provide an opportunity for feedback.
  • Volunteer Investment - Fully Funded training will be provided.
